Julio Lugo went 3-for-4 with a home run and 4 RBI, and Coco Crisp hit a triple and drove in 3 runs to give Josh Beckett all the support he needed to beat the White Sox, 10-3, and pick up his 13th win of the season. Jim Thome hit a 3-run homer for
Florida’s first 3 hitters, Hanley Ramirez, Dan Uggla, and Miguel Cabrera combined to go 8-for-14 with 4 doubles, 2 home runs, and 8 RBI as the Marlins socked the Reds, 10-2. Scott Olsen gave up just 2 runs in 7 innings for the victory.
Aaron Cook pitched 7 scoreless innings, and Todd Helton drove in 2 runs to help lead the
Roy Oswalt yielded just one run over 6 innings, and Carlos Lee provided all the offense for Houston with a 2-run home run in the 1st inning as the Astros edged the Pirates, 2-1. Tom Gorzelanny pitched 7 strong innings for
Billy Butler went 4-for-4 with 4 RBI, and Mark Grudzielanek went 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored as the Royals shocked the Tigers in
