BDD's Toby Boyce had a rare opportunity recently to interview one of professional baseball's up-and-coming bat makers...the Phoenix Bat Company. This is a fun and interesting article. I was intrigued by the devotion of the company's founder, Charlie Trudeau, and I think you will be too.

View Article  So You Want to be a Writer?

BDD is looking to add a few additional writers. While the positions are non-paying, they do offer some nice perks. You often get the chance to attend professional baseball games as "working media," interview players and executives, receive team press releases and free review copies of books and media guides, and get even closer to the game we all love.

If you are seriously interested in writing for BDD (about 2 articles per week), please email info@baseballdigestdaily.com. I will be reviewing the candidates and contacting individuals directly with further information. Preference will be given to those who have some writing experience (on other baseball sites, blogs, etc.)

Thanks!

Joe

View Article  In Honor of Jackie Robinson

As we approach the 60th anniversary celebration of the breaking of baseball’s color barrier by Jackie Robinson, Bill Chuck takes a look at the current state of racial equality in baseball. He also revisits the lives of the pioneers that have paved the way for civil rights in America’s pastime and takes a walk down memory lane through Steve Jacobson’s new book, “Carrying Jackie’s Torch. The Players Who Integrated Baseball - and America.”
