Q. How does this compare to your other World Series championship?
DAVID ECKSTEIN: It's the best feeling in the game, having the opportunity to win back in 2002, when no one predicted us to win back then, we got on an unbelievable roll. And coming here, pretty much the same type of -- the way it worked out, no one believed in our club, and we just believed in ourself and we went out one day at a time. We did not stay in the past and we weren't looking towards the future. We stayed in the moment. By doing that there's a lot of similarities between the two clubs. And it's just been unbelievable to be able to do it in both places.

Q. With all the adversity your club went through this year, was there ever a time doubt crept in that this wasn't going to be possible, this kind of success?
TONY LA RUSSA: How about daily? And a couple of times a day during the game. You operate with -- you kind of prepare for the worst and you hope for the best. So there were many times that things just didn't seem like they were falling into place for us. But from the first game in San Diego and there was our center fielder and our shortstop and our club got a lift, no doubt about it. This guy, right here (indicating.) The big guy with the trophy.

Q. I'm curious, this has been such an unbelievable year for the team, the September swoon, the losingest team ever to win a World Series, your ups and downs. What is it about this team that you're able to put it together in October and be the last team standing?
JEFF WEAVER: I think a lot of it had to do with the end of the season. We struggled a bit. But when it came to it and our backs were against the wall, we made it happen. We won ballgames we needed to to get in. Once the season's over you start fresh. It's all about who's the hottest, who believes in each other and who goes out there and plays the hardest. And I think that struggle towards the end just refreshed us once it was all done and we were able to take a deep breath and go out there and play for the second season.
