- Anibal Sanchez pitched the fourth no-hitter in Marlins history as he shut down the Diamondbacks and pushed Florida over .500 with a 2-0 win Ray Durham hit two home runs, and rookie Jonathan Sanchez was brilliant on the mound as the Giants edged the Reds, 3-2 Richie Sexson and Jose Lopez had 3 hits each, and Kenji Johjima hit a game winning single in the 10th inning to lead the Mariners past the Tigers, 5-4
- Jose Vidro had 2 hits and 3 RBI, driving in the game winner with a walk-off single in the 9th inning as the Nationals upset the Cardinals, 7-6
- The Mets got spectacular pitching performances from Dave Williams and Oliver Perez, and Shawn Green went 6-for-8 with 2 home runs as the Mets took a doubleheader from the Braves, 4-1 and 8-0 Maicer Izturis had 3 hits and scored 3 times, and Howard Kendrick homered and drove in 2 as the Angels doubled up the Orioles, 8-4 Mark Teixeira led a slugfest in Oakland, hitting 2 home runs and driving in 5. Gary Matthews Jr. and Mike Young also had 3 hits for Texas. Jason Kendall had 3 hits and Mark Kotsay drove in 4 runs for Oakland which was enough to help the A's overcome the Rangers, 9-6Jim Thome went 4-for-4 with a homer, and Jermaine Dye added a 2-run blast to give Jose Contreras all the support he needed to defeat Boston, 8-1
- The Astros scored 3 times in the 9th inning behind the bat of Lance Berkman (3-for-4, 4 RBI) as Houston beat Philadelphia, 5-3 Ted Lilly pitched a solid game, and Troy Glaus and Aaron Hill each had 3 hits as the Blue Jays knocked off the Indians, 3-2 Ty Wigginton and Greg Norton both homered to lead Tampa Bay to a 3-run 7th inning and a come from behind win over the Twins, 4-2. Carlos Silva allowed just one hit through 6 scoreless innings for the Twins but had to leave with a stomach problem Derek Lowe allowed just 3 hits over 8 innings to lead the Dodgers to a 2-1 win over the Brewers. Chris Capuano was the hard luck loser for Milwaukee Derrek Lee homered and drove in 4, and Rich Hill had another terrific outing allowing just one earned run on 4 hits while striking out 11 en route to a 7-2 Cubs win over Pittsburgh Randy Johnson allowed just one hit over 7 scoreless innings, and Jorge Posada hit 2 home runs and drove in 6 as the Yankees beat the Royals, 8-3 Paul McAnulty hit a pinch-hit 2-run walk-off home run to break an 11th inning scoreless tie and send the Padres home as 2-0 winners over the Rockies. Jason Jennings and Clay Hensley each allowed just 3 hits through 7 scoreless innings while starting for their respective clubs
