The Los Angeles Dodgers announced today that manager Grady Little is leaving the Club.

"This was a mutual decision that Ned and I decided is the best direction for the Dodger organization to take," Little said during a conference call announcing his resignation.

Little, 57, managed the Dodgers for two seasons, posting a 170-154 record (.525) during that period, which included a wild card berth in 2006. He has a four-year career managerial record of 358-290 (.552), including two years spent with the Boston Red Sox.

"I want to thank Grady for his two years of dedicated service to the organization,” said Colletti. “I have the utmost respect for him and I wish him the best both professionally and personally."

Wooo....crazy day today. Here's the lowdown...

Joe Girardi was officially announced as manager of th New York Yankees today, signing a 3 year contract with the team.

The Houston Astros re-signed catcher Brad Ausmus to a $2 million, one-year contract.

The Brewers today declined the 2008 club option for OF Geoff Jenkins while the following players have elected free agency: RHP Francisco Cordero, LHP Ray King, 3B Corey Koskie, RHP Scott Linebrink and C Damian Miller.

The Brewers also named Ted Simmons bench coach.  In a corresponding move, Dale Sveum has switched from bench coach to third-base coach.  Sveum replaces former third-base coach Nick Leyva, who was not invited back for the 2008 season.

The Cincinnati Reds today filled out new manager Dusty Baker's Major League staff by naming Chris Speier bench coach and Juan Lopez bullpen coach.

Several published reports have indicated that Joe Torre will become the next manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
