Good news for Indians fans. Shapiro is a top notch talent evaluator and a terrific communicator. The Dolans can do something right after all!
Cleveland Indians President Paul Dolan today announced Indians Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark Shapiro has agreed to a 5-year contract extension though the 2012 season.
Shapiro is entering his 6th season as Executive VP and General Manager and his 16th overall after joining the organization in 1992. During Mark’s five seasons as General Manager since 2002 he has re-constructed the Major League club and revitalized the Player Development System through a series of trades, free agent signings and the First-Year Player Draft.
