- Jered Weaver allowed just one run on 6 hits over 7 innings, and Casey Kotchman hit a grand slam and walked 3 times to lead the Angels to a 7-2 win over the Rangers. Hank Blalock reached base 3 times and homered for Texas.
- Jason Bergmann allowed just 2 hits while striking out 10 in 8 innings to lead the Nationals to their 4th straight win, a 2-1 victory over the Braves. John Smoltz allowed just 2 runs in 6 2/3 innings for the Atlanta, but left the game with a dislocated right pinky finger.
- Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched a complete game 6-hitter, and 7 of Boston’s starting 9 picked up 2 hits apiece as the Red Sox knocked off the Tigers, 7-1.
- Tom Gorzelanny pitched 7 scoreless innings, Freddy Sanchez went 4-for-5, and Ronny Paulino homered and walked 3 times as the Pirates shut out the Marlins, 7-0.
- Chase Utley has 2 hits, 2 RBI, and scored twice, and Pat Burrell homered and drove in 2, but it was the Milwaukee bullpen collapse that allowed the Phillies to score 6 runs in the 8th inning to beat the Brewers, 8-6. J.J. Hardy hit a home run and drove in 3 runs for Milwaukee.
- Troy Glaus homered and drove in 3 to lead the Blue Jays to a come from behind win over the Orioles, 5-3. Nick Markakis doubled, walked, and drove in 2 for Baltimore.
- David Wright had 3 hits, homered, drove in 2 and scored twice as the Mets rallied from a 4-0 deficit to nip the Cubs, 5-4. Carlos Delgado drove in the winning run in the 9th inning with a walk-off walk!
- Greg Maddux pitched a 5 hitter, and Mike Cameron and Josh Bard each had 2 hits and 2 RBI as the Padres buried the Reds, 7-1.
- Kansas City’s Gil Meche and Oakland’s Dan Haren battled to keep the game scoreless through 8 innings, but in the 9th, catcher John Buck broke the tie with a 2-run home run that would give the Royals a 2-1 win over the A’s. Meche allowed 7 hits over 7 innings for KC while Haren allowed just 4 in 8 innings for Oakland.
- Chris Duncan homered, drove in 2, and scored 2 runs, and David Eckstein collected 3 hits as the Cardinals doubled up the Dodgers, 8-4. Rafael Furcal went 4-for-5, and Andre Ethier went 3-for-4 for Los Angeles.
