·         We’ll start off with the craziest and most hilarious scene of the week. If you thought Earl Weaver, Billy Martin, or Lou Piniella had some explosive tirades, check out what Mississippi Braves manager Phillips Wellman did over the weekend. You don’t want to miss this one!

·         Kevin Goldstein and Jonathan Mayo did a terrific job on the draft preview last Thursday on MLB.com. If you don’t know too much about the draft, this show will catch you up quickly.

·         MGL is back with the 2007 UZR for those of you interested. You can also grab the 2003-2006 ratings here as well.

·         I’m obviously not a big Yankees fan, but you really should check out River Ave. Blues. It’s more than just about the Yankees. These guys do a great job keeping up with minor league and college baseball too. It’s an entertaining and interesting blog.

·         I still can’t seem to get enough of Curt Schilling’s blog. I mean, if you spoke to as many players as I have, you’ll realize that you can basically recycle the answers. But not with Schil…Here’s a quote from yesterday’s post…

“Let’s see, I sucked, we still won. That about cover it? Check back next week…

Seriously, I did suck and we still won but it was another grind it out, use the whole bullpen and both offenses had their way for most of the day, until our pen got in the act.”

I really don’t understand why the rest of the media dislikes this guy. He is so refreshing and entertaining. Ok, so he may piss someone off from time to time, but at least he’s honest!

·         Speaking of good unofficial MLB blogs, check out Inside the Dodgers. Our friend Josh Rawich of the media relations department does an excellent job keeping fans up to date on daily activities and news involving the team. He truly reads all the comments and interacts with the public as well. I can’t say that much for many other people in his position around the country.

That’s all for this week. Continue to check our Minors/College page for updated links on prospects, the College World Series, and all kinds of news.
