And the official info from the White Sox...
Left-handed pitcher Mark Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on a four-year, $56-million contract extension through the 2011 season, White Sox General Manager Ken Williams announced today. Under terms of the agreement, Buehrle will be paid $14 million for each of the next four seasons.
Buehrle, 28, is 103-70 with a 3.77 ERA (646 ER/1,543.2 IP) and 898 strikeouts over eight seasons with the White Sox (2000-present).
“There is no question what Mark Buehrle means to this organization, our clubhouse and our fans,” said Williams. “He is one of the very best left-handers in the game today. We cannot be happier to reach this agreement with Mark, and now look forward to this team winning games the remainder of this season and in future years with Mark on the mound.”
