Baseball Digest Daily :: Here Come the Injuries...

Giants SS Omar Vizquel has torn the medial meniscus cartilage in his right knee and is expected to miss four or five weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay pitcher Scott Kazmir and Texas starter Brandon McCarthy both felt discomfort in their elbows today and were shut down. Kazmir will undego a precautionary MRI.

Let's hope they're just working out the kinks and don't have any serious damage to their arms.

Hate to see anyone go down with injuries but the Kazmir one would be devistating to the Rays. I'd really like to see them take a giant step forward this season with all that great young talent they have.
