Matt Kemp blasted a 3-run homer Sunday to give LA all the runs they would need

  • Joey Votto reached base twice, and 5 different hitters each drove in a run as the Reds held off the Rays, 6-4.
  • Cristian Guzman went 3-for-4 with 2 home runs, 4 RBI, and 3 runs scored, and Jason Bergmann allowed just 2 hits over 4 scoreless innings of work as the Nationals shut out the Indians, 9-0.
  • Phil Hughes pitched 4 no-hit innings, and Shelley Duncan reached base 3 times and scored 2 runs to lead the Yankees to a 6-4 win over the Twins.
  • Carlos Guillen tripled, homered, and drove in 2, Freddy Guzman went 2-for-2 with a 3-run home run, and Nate Robertson tossed 4 scoreless innings as the Tigers outlasted the Pirates, 9-7.
  • Matt Diaz went 3-for-3 and scored 3 times, and Scott Thorman homered and knocked in 4 as the Braves beat up on the Cardinals, 12-5.
  • Jesse Litsch struck out 6 while allowing just one run on 2 hits over 4 innings, and Vernon Wells collected 2 hits and 4 RBI to help the Blue Jays blow past the Phillies, 9-4.
  • Josh Barfield, Jason Michaels, and Andy Marte each hit solo home runs, and Jake Westbrook threw 3 scoreless innings as the Indians cut down the Nationals, 5-2.
  • John Maine pitched 4 no-hit innings, and Jose Reyes launched his first home run of the spring as the Mets shut out the Astros, 3-0.
  • Matt Kemp hit a 3-run 1st inning homer, and Esteban Loaiza gave Los Angeles 3 solid innings as the Dodgers blanked the Red Sox, 4-0.
  • Kevin Kouzmanoff homered, walked, scored 2 runs, and drove in 2 runs, and San Diego pounded out 16 hits en route to a 12-3 win over the White Sox.
  • Eric Patterson reached base 4 times, homered, scored 4 runs and drove in 2, and Daryle Ward went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI to lead the Cubs to an easy 13-1 win over the Royals. Chicago pitchers gave up just one run on 2 hits.
  • Seth Smith went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI, and Jeff Baker contributed 2 hits and 2 runs as the Rockies added to the day's list of blowout wins by beating the Giants, 10-2.
  • Chris Narveson pitched 4 shutout innings, and Cole Gillespie blasted a 3-run home run in the 8th inning as the Brewers rallied to knock off the A's, 5-2. Joe Blanton threw 5 solid innings for Oakland.
  • Mike Morse went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI, and Jose Lopez added 2 hits, 2 runs, and 3 RBI as the Mariners outlasted the Diamondbacks, 10-7. Chris Burke had 2 doubles and 3 RBI for Arizona.
  • Claudio Vargas tossed 5 brilliant innings without allowing a hit, and J.J. Hardy doubled in 2 runs as the Brewers split squad shut down the Mariners split squad, 2-0.
  • Vlad Guerrero went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, and Kendry Morales blasted a solo homer as the Angels defeated the Rangers, 6-4. Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a 2-run homer for Texas, his first big fly of the spring.
