Miguel Tejada had 2 doubles and scored twice on Thursday

 

  • Magglio Ordonez went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Gary Sheffield reached base 3 times, homered, and drove in 2 for Detroit while Joe Borchard doubled and tripled, and Brent Lillibridge had 2 hits and 3 RBI for Atlanta...so what did it get the two teams? A meaningless 6-6 tie.
  • Miguel Tejada smacked 2 doubles, and Mark Loretta drove in 3 runs as the Astros mustered just enough offense to get by the Dodgers, 7-6. Blake DeWitt reached base 4 times, tripled, homered, and knocked in 3 for Los Angeles.
  • Garrett Olson tossed 3 scoreless innings without allowing a hit, and Melvin Mora continued to swing a hot bat , reaching base twice and driving in a run, as the Orioles turned back the Twins, 3-1.
  • Albert Pujols had 2 hits and a walk, and Skip Schumaker reached base 3 times and scored 2 runs to lead the Cardinals over the Mets, 6-5. Jose Reyes, Endy Chavez, and Fernando Martinez each had 2 hits for New York.
  • Matt Garza pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings for Tampa Bay while Brandon Moss launched a big fly for Boston as the Rays and Red Sox battled to a 3-3 tie.
  • Travis Hafner went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, and 2 RBI, and Jamey Carroll added 2 hits, a triple, and 3 RBI as the Indians scalped the Blue Jays, 9-5. Gregg Zaun doubled, homered, had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs for Toronto in a losing effort.
  • Doug Mientkiewicz had 2 hits, and Jorge Velandia drove in 2 runs as the Pirates defeated Billy Crystal's Yankees, 5-3. Mike Mussina pitched 5 perfect innings for New York. Crystal struck out in his only at bat leading off the game.
  • Damon Hollins went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, and 2 RBI, and Jorge De La Rosa gave Kansas City a respectable 4 inning outing as the Royals held off the Angels, 6-5. Joe Saunders pitched 4 scoreless innings for Los Angeles.
  • Alcides Escobar had 3 hits, an RBI, and a stolen base, and Gabe Kapler doubled and drove in 3 as the Brewers beat the Diamondbacks, 8-6. Conor Jackson had 3 hits, and Jeff Salazar knocked in 3 runs for Arizona.
  • Jason Marquis threw 4 scoreless innings, and Ryan Theriot and Mark DeRosa each collected 2 hits as the Cubs edged the Padres, 3-2. Greg Maddux pitched 2 scoreless innings, and Marshall McDougall walked 3 times and hit a solo homer for San Diego.
  • Mike Morse had 3 hits, Raul Ibanez had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Ichiro Suzuki picked up his first hit of the spring, but it still wasn't enough for the Mariners to break the 3-3 deadlock with the Giants at the end of the day.
  • Josh Hamilton went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles, and a walk, Michael Young collected 3 hits, and Hank Blalock hit a 3-run home run to help the Rangers rally to a 6-6 tie with the Rockies. Matt Holliday had 2 hits, and Todd Helton homered and drove in 2 for Colorado.
  • Cameron Maybin hit a 2-run homer (his 3rd of the spring) in the top of the 9th inning to propel the Marlins to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Nationals. Tim Redding threw 5 strong innings for Washington, allowing just one hit and one walk.
  • Casey Smith went 2-for-4 and ripped a 3-run home run, and Wes Helms tripled and reached base 3 times as the Phillies slugged out a 10-7 win over the Reds. Brandon Phillips and Juan Castro each drove in 2 runs for Cincinnati.
