Brandon Moss hit a game tying home run in the 9th inning, and Manny Ramirez ripped 2 doubles and drove in 4 runs, including the game winner in the 11th inning, as the Red Sox rallied to stun the A's, 6-5, in MLB's season opener Tuesday in Japan. Oakland's Huston Street took the loss after being lit up for 3 runs on 3 hits in just 1 2/3 innings. Jack Hannahan had 2 hits, a home run, and 2 RBI, and Daric Barton walked 3 times and scored twice for the A's in defeat.

In game 2 of the series in Japan, Oakland's Rich Harden allowed just one run on 3 hits while striking out 9 over 6 inning of work to lead the A's to a 5-1 win over the Red Sox. Emil Brown provided the big blow for Oakland with a 3-run home run. Jon Lester got hit hard, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks in just 4 innnings of work.

The Major League Baseball regular season resumes on Sunday back in the United States.
