Got to see Alexei Ramirez today. Swings from the heels and can run like hell. Very skinny so I wonder if he'll put on some weight/muscle while here. Wasn't showing much plate discipline as he swung at most everything thrown up at him, but have no idea whether that's normal or whether he was just trying to get his cuts in. Had a big RBI triple and dropped a popup at shortstop.

Also saw Yasuhiko Yabuta throw an inning. Throws about 88 or 89 but his out pitch appears to be a screwball type pitch which breaks in on right handed hitters. Didn't seem to fool anybody other than Brad Eldred (who gets fooled by lots of pitchers) and gave up an absolute shot to Brian Anderson. Obviously it's hard to tell much from one inning. His numbers in Japan were good but not great.

Lots of fun watching baseball with my Dad, whose White Sox blew a ninth inning lead to the Royals.
