  • Michael Young reached base 3 times and scored twice, and Kevin Millwood allowed just one run on 3 hits over 7 innings as the Rangers took the first of two from the Orioles, 3-1.
  • In the nightcap, Milton Bradley hit 2 doubles and drove in 2 runs, and Ian Kinsler knocked in the winning run with a single in the 8th inning as the Rangers went on to sweep the doubleheader from the O's, 5-4.
  • J.D. Drew went 3-for-3 with a walk, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored, and Sean Casey had 2 hits and 3 RBI to lead a Red Sox offense that pounded out 13 hits and 9 walks on the way to beating the Tigers, 12-6. Ivan Rodriguez was 3-for-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored for Detroit.
  • Mark Hendrickson allowed just one run on 3 hits in 7 innings, and Jorge Cantu collected 3 hits and 2 RBI as the Marlins swept the series from the Nationals by winning the finale, 4-3. Odalis Perez was solid on the mound for Washington, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 6 in 5 2/3 innings.
  • Andy Pettitte threw 6 2/3 strong innings, and Alex Rodriguez, Jorge Posada, and Melky Cabrera each hit solo home runs as the Yankees took down the Royals, 6-1. Mark Teahen had 3 hits for Kansas City.
  • Fred Lewis doubled, tripled, and scored 2 runs, and Kevin Correia blanked the Cardinals for 7 2/3 innings as the Giants defeated the Cardinals, 5-1.
  • Edwin Encarnacion had 2 hits, a home run, and 2 RBI, Paul Bako had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Aaron Harang gave up just one run on 5 hits over 8 innings as the Reds swept away the Brewers, 4-1.
  • Geovany Soto went 4-for-5 with 2 doubles and a 2-run home run, and Mike Fontenot added a 2-run blast of his own as the Cubs scored 5 times in the 6th inning en route to a 7-3 win over the Pirates.
  • Travis Buck had 3 doubles and drove in all 3 of Oakland's runs, including 2 in the top of the 12th inning, to lead the A's to a 3-2 win over the Blue Jays. Dana Eveland pitched well again for Oakland, throwing 6 1/3 scoreless innings. Shaun Marcum wasn't too shabby either, allowing just one run while striking out 8 in 7 innings for Toronto.
  • Ryan Church had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Angel Pagan added 3 hits and drove in Jose Reyes with the winning run in the bottom of the 12th as the Mets nipped the Phillies, 4-3.
