They won a pennant in 1982 and their division in 1981, but have yet to reached the top when it comes to the playoffs. They have a 2926-3270 record (.472 winning %) since they entered baseball in 1969.
San Diego Padres - Never won a WS - 39 years
They have two pennants and three division titles to boast about, but no World Series Champions banner. They are 2876-3328 (.464 winning %) since being introduce to the highest level of baseball competition in 1969.
Washington Nationals - Never won a WS - 39 years
Mainly known as the Expos, they have a division title (1981) to talk about and that's it. 2983-3213 is their record through 39 years, for a .481 winning %.
Seattle Mariners - Never won a WS - 31 years
They have won their division three times and also won a wild card spot to the playoffs, but never made a real run at the ultimate title. They have a 2321-2588 record (.473 winning %) in their 31 years of existence.
Pittsburgh Pirates - 29 years (1979)
The Pirates edged the Baltimore Orioles in seven games by hitting .323/.364/.438 as a team. Willie Stargell and Phil Garner each had 12 hits, but Stargell shined with 3 home runs, the only bombs his team would hit. Recap of the season.

Oakland Athletics - 19 years - (1989)
They swept the San Francisco Giants with a .964 OPS and 3.50 ERA, hoping not to live through the 1988 WS disappointment once again. Recap of the season.
Cincinnati Reds - 18 years (1990)
They beat up on a far superior team in the Oakland A's, who had won 103 games that season with Tony LaRussa at the helm, 12 more than the Reds. In the end, the hottest team prevailed and Lou Piniella had the last laugh. Recap of the season.
Minnesota Twins - 17 years (1991)
They bested the Atlanta Braves in seven games while being out-hit the entire series. They have won four division titles since then. They were also out-hit and out-pitch in this series, but ended up on top. Recap of the season.
Colorado Rockies - Never won a WS - 15 years
They came as close to win their first title last season as they ever had in their short history. They have a 1119-1260 (.470 winning %) record since they entered the National League.
Toronto Blue Jays - 15 years (1993)

They needed seven games to call themselves world champions and the San Francisco Giants were on the losing end. The Giants hit 14 home runs against 7 for the LA franchise. Recap of the season.
Florida Marlins - 5 years (2003)

Chicago White Sox - 3 years (2005)
They swept the Houston Astros after the Texans won 45 of 75 games in the second half. Recap of the season.
St-Louis Cardinals - 2 years (2006)
They won the series 4-1 against the Detroit Tigers, despite winning only 83 games in the regular season (compared to 95 for the Tigers). Detroit failed to hit over .200 and their pitching staff was good, but not better than St-Louis who posted a 2.05 ERA. They walked only eight batters in five games. Recap of the season.
Boston Red Sox - 1 year (2007)
Terry Francona has yet to experience a loss in the World Series, as his team swept the St-Louis Cardinals in 2004 and did it again in '07 against the Colorado Rockies. Recap of the season.
