  • Lastings Milledge went 3-for-3 with a walk, Ryan Zimmerman drove in 2 runs, and Cristian Guzman scored 2 runs as the Nationals stopped their 9 game losing streak by beating the Braves, 5-4.  Chipper Jones doubled, homered had 3 hits and 2 RBI for Atlanta.
  • Jason Bay singled, homered, drove in 3 runs, and scored 2 more, and Xavier Nady and Ryan Doumit each hit home runs and collected 2 RBI as the Pirates knocked out rookie Johnny Cueto and the Reds, 9-1. Pittsburgh's Tom Gorzelanny allowed just one run on 4 hits in 6 1/3 innings.
  • Paul Konerko and Joe Crede each hit grand slams, and Javier Vazquez gave up just 5 hits while striking out 9 over 7 innings as the White Sox blanked the Tiger yet again, 11-0.
  • Brian Bannister pitched a complete game, 3-hitter, and Alex Gordon reached base 3 times, homered, and scored 3 runs to lead the Royals to a 5-1 win over the Twins.
  • Rookie outfielder John Bowker hit a home run and drove in 4 runs, and Tim Lincecum struck out 11 while allowing just 2 runs over 6 strong innings as the Giants downed the Cardinals, 7-4. Ryan Ludwick had 2 hits,  homered, and had 2 RBI for St. Louis.
  • Clint Barmes, Matt Holliday, and Garrett Atkins each had 3 hits and combined for 10 RBI as the Rockies stopped the Diamondbacks, 13-5. Chris Snyder and Stephen Drew reached base 4 times and collected 2 doubles apiece for Arizona.
  • Manny Ramirez and J.D. Drew each scored 2runs, and Kevin Youkilis and Jacoby Ellsbury each drove in 2 runs as the Red Sox put 17 men on base on their way to beating the Yankees, 8-5.
  • Corey Hart went 4-for-5, and Gabe Kapler hit 2 doubles, a home run, and drove in 3 runs as the Brewers slugged out a 9-7 win over the Mets. Brian Schneider had 3 hits and 3 RBI for New York.
  • Derrek Lee collected 3 hits and 2 RBI, and Mark DeRosa launched a solo home run as the Cubs outlasted the Phillies, 6-5. Chicago scored the winning run on a 10th inning error by Philadelphia's Chase Utley.
  • Jeff Niemann allowed just one run in his 6 inning major league debut, and B.J. Upton blasted a 3-run homer to lead the Rays to a 6-2 win over the Orioles.
  • J.R. Towles walked, hit a home run, and knocked in 3 runs, and Wandy Rodriguez pitched 7 impressive innings as the Astros beat the Marlins, 5-1. Michael Bourn also had 2 hits, a home run, and scored twice for Houston.
  • Rod Barajas had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Joe Inglett drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning to help the Blue Jays edge the Rangers, 5-4. Josh Hamilton homered and drove in 2 for Texas.
  • Jeff Mathis went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored, and Casey Kotchman and Howie Kendrick each collected 3 hits for the 2nd consecutive day as the Angels doubled up the Mariners, 10-5. Raul Ibanez had 2 hits, a double, and drove in 3 for Seattle. Mariners pitcher Erik Bedard was scratched from today's start with hip inflammation.
  • Greg Maddux pitched 5 innings of 2-hit ball, and four San Diego relievers combined to keep Los Angeles from scoring as the Padres shut out the Dodgers, 1-0.
