  • Hanley Ramirez had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Mike Jacobs and Luis Gonzalez each hit home runs as the Marlins held off the Braves, 6-5. Yunel Escobar singled, walked, and hit a 2-run homer for Atlanta.

  • Miguel Cabrera went 4-for-6 with a home run and 5 RBI, and Edgar Renteria reached base 4 times and hit a grand slam to lead the Tigers to an easy 13-2 win over C.C. Sabathia and the Indians. Armando Galarraga allowed just 2 runs on one hit over 6 2/3 innings for Detroit.

Texas scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch by A.J. Burnett who came on to pitch in relief. Josh Hamilton also had 4 hits, 2 doubles, a walk, and 2 RBI for the Rangers.
  • Jose Reyes and Ryan Church hit solo home runs, and Carlos Beltran launched a 3-run blast as the Mets beat the Nationals, 5-2.
  • Joe Mauer went 3-for-4, drove in a run, and scored twice, and Jason Kubel and Brendan Harris each added 2 hits and an RBI as the Twins beat the Rays, 6-5. Carl Crawford doubled, homered, and scored twice for Tampa Bay.
  • Garrett Atkins went 4-for-5 with 2 RBI, and Chris Iannetta added 3 hits, a walk, and 2 runs to lead the Rockies to a 10-2 win over the Padres. Colorado broke the game open by scoring 7 runs in the 9th inning. Brian Giles doubled, tripled, and drove in both runs for San Diego.
  • Felix Hernandez pitched a complete game on Wednesday, allowing just one earned run, and Jose Vidro collected 2 hits and 2 RBI as the Mariners tripped up the A's, 4-2. Raul Ibanez also had 3 hits for Seattle.
