• Ben Sheets allowed just 2 hits over 5 scoreless innings before leaving with a sore right tricep, and Bill Hall hit a 2-run home run as the Brewers knocked off the Reds, 5-2.
• Chipper Jones went 3-for-4 with 2 home runs and 4 RBI, and 5 Atlanta pitchers combined to allow just 5 hits as the Braves defeated the Dodgers, 6-1.
• Cliff Lee pitched 2-hit ball over 8 innings, and Casey Blake homered and drove in 3 runs to lead the Indians to a 4-0 shutout over the Twins.
• Conor Jackson went 4-for-5 with 2 triples, a home run, 4 RBI, and 3 runs scored, Justin Upton added 3 hits and an RBI, and Dan Haren threw 7 scoreless innings to pick up his 3rd win of the season as the Diamonbacks blanked the Padres, 9-0.
• Torii Hunter collected 3 doubles and 3 RBI and added a brilliant home-run robbing catch in the 9th inning to save the game as the Angels squeaked past the Mariners, 5-4. Richie Sexson hit 2 homers and drove in 4 for Seattle.
• Nick Markakis went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk, and Daniel Cabrera pitched 6 solid innings as the Orioles surprised the Yankees, 8-2.
• David Ortiz singled, hit a grand slam, and drove in 5 runs, and Jacoby Ellsbury tripled, walked 3 times, and scored 3 times to help the Red Sox run away with an 11-3 victory over the Rangers. Hank Blalock homered and had 2 RBI for Texas.
• Jim Thome walked twice and hit a 3-run home run, and Paul Konerko hit a homer and drove in 2 to give Javier Vazquez and the White Sox all the offense they would need to beat the Rays, 9-2. Nick Swisher also walked 3 times and scored 2 runs, and Juan Uribe had 2 hits, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored for Chicago.
• Nick Johnson doubled twice, walked, and knocked in 4 runs, and Felipe Lopez collected 3 hits and scored 2 runs as the Nationals defeated the Marlins, 6-4. Tim Redding struck out 10 over 6 innings to get the win for Washington.
• Troy Tulowitzki ripped 2 doubles and drove in 3 runs, and Garrett Atkins added 2 hits, a home run and 3 RBI as the Rockies roughed up Chris Sampson and the Astros, 11-5. Hunter Pence had 3 hits for Houston.
• Skip Schumacker, Chris Duncan, and Albert Pujols combined to go 6-for-11 with a double, 2 home runs, 3 walks, 8 RBI, and 7 runs scored to power the Cardinals to an 11-1 laugher over the Giants. Todd Wellemeyer allowed just one run on 4 hits in 7 innings for St. Louis.
• Bobby Crosby doubled twice, homered, and drove in 5 runs, and Emil Brown went 3-for-5 with a double and 3 RBI as the A's clobbered the Royals, 13-2. Chad Gaudin gave up just one earned run on 4 hits while striking out 8 in 7 innings for Oakland.
