  • Bobby Crosby had 3 hits, and Rob Bowen and Jack Hannahan collected 2 RBI apiece as the A's roughed up Luke Hochevar and the Royals, 7-1. Kansas City managed only 3 hits off three Oakland pitchers.
  • Chase Utley went 3-for-3 with 2 homers and 4 RBI, and Pedro Feliz blasted a pinch-hit home run in the 7th inning to give Philadelphia the lead for good as the Phillies edged the Mets, 5-4. David Wright was on base 4 times for New York.
  • Hanley Ramirez hit 2 homers and drove in 3 runs, and Scott Olsen pitched 7 innings of 3-hit ball to lead the Marlins to a 6-1 win over the struggling Nationals. Odalis Perez tossed 6 strong innings for Washington without allowing an earned run.
  • Mark Teixeira went 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI, Jeff Francoeur added a single and 2 doubles, and Kelly Johnson reached base 3 times and scored 3 runs as the Braves scalped the Dodgers, 6-1. Jair Jurrjens allowed just one run on 3 hits over 7 innings for Atlanta.

  • Benjie Molina went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, and Aaron Rowand and John Bowker knocked in 2 runs apiece as the Giants cruised to an 8-2 win over the Cardinals.  Jonathan Sanchez threw 5 solid and scoreless innings for San Francisco.
  • Richie Sexson hit another homer off Los Angeles, and Miguel Batista pitched scoreless baseball for 7 2/3 innings as the Mariners sunk the Angels 4-2.
  • Khalil Greene went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored, and Justin Huber hit a 3-run homer (his first of his career) as the Padres finally stopped the Diamondbacks, 9-4. Conor Jackson had 3 hits and scored 2 runs for Arizona.
