• Marco Scutaro got on base 3 times, and David Eckstein doubled, homered, and drove in 3 runs as the Blue Jays beat the Tigers, 5-3. Clete Thomas had 3 hits and 2 RBI for Detroit.
• Edwin Encarnacion hit 2 home runs, Paul Bako hit a game-tying home run in the 10th inning, and Ken Griffey Jr. drove in the game winning run with a walk-off single as the Reds stunned the Brewers, 4-3. Yovani Gallardo allowed just one run on 4 hits in 7 innings for Milwaukee, and Aaron Harang gave up just one run on 4 hits in 8 innings for Cincinnati.
• Derek Jeter doubled twice and drove in 2 runs, Johnny Damon hit a 2-run home run, and Andy Pettitte pitched 7 scoreless innings as the Yankees shot down the Orioles, 7-1.
• Jim Thome went 4-for-5 with a double, home run, and 3 RBI, and John Danks and Boone Logan combined on a 4-hitter to lead the White Sox to a 6-0 shutout over the Rays.
• Brendan Harris had 3 hits, a home run, and scored twice, and Justin Morneau drove in the winning run with a single in the 10th inning as the Twins walked-off with a 2-1 win over the Indians. Paul Byrd of Cleveland and Scott Baker of Minnesota each pitched 7 strong innings, allowing just one run.
• Aramis Ramirez went 4-for-5 with a double, home run, and 4 RBI, and Ryan Theriot added 4 hits of his own, scored 3 times and knocked in 2 runs as the Cubs blasted the Pirates once again, 13-6. Ryan Doumit hit 2 solo home runs for Pittsburgh in defeat.
• Bobby Crosby had 3 hits, and Rob Bowen and Jack Hannahan collected 2 RBI apiece as the A's roughed up Luke Hochevar and the Royals, 7-1. Kansas City managed only 3 hits off three Oakland pitchers.
• Chase Utley went 3-for-3 with 2 homers and 4 RBI, and Pedro Feliz blasted a pinch-hit home run in the 7th inning to give Philadelphia the lead for good as the Phillies edged the Mets, 5-4. David Wright was on base 4 times for New York.
• Hanley Ramirez hit 2 homers and drove in 3 runs, and Scott Olsen pitched 7 innings of 3-hit ball to lead the Marlins to a 6-1 win over the struggling Nationals. Odalis Perez tossed 6 strong innings for Washington without allowing an earned run.
• Mark Teixeira went 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI, Jeff Francoeur added a single and 2 doubles, and Kelly Johnson reached base 3 times and scored 3 runs as the Braves scalped the Dodgers, 6-1. Jair Jurrjens allowed just one run on 3 hits over 7 innings for Atlanta.
• Kevin Youkilis had 3 hits, and David Ortiz had 2 hits, 2 RBI, and scored 2 runs as the Red Sox scored 2 in the 8th inning and 4 in the 9th inning to shock the Rangers, 6-5. Milton Bradley hit a 3-run home run for Texas.
• Miguel Tejada had 2 hits, a double, and 2 RBI, and Kaz Matsui added 2 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI to help the Astros rally for a 6-4 win over the Rockies. Matt Holliday and Brad Hawpe each had 3 hits for Colorado.
• Benjie Molina went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, and Aaron Rowand and John Bowker knocked in 2 runs apiece as the Giants cruised to an 8-2 win over the Cardinals.  Jonathan Sanchez threw 5 solid and scoreless innings for San Francisco.
• Richie Sexson hit another homer off Los Angeles, and Miguel Batista pitched scoreless baseball for 7 2/3 innings as the Mariners sunk the Angels 4-2.
• Khalil Greene went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored, and Justin Huber hit a 3-run homer (his first of his career) as the Padres finally stopped the Diamondbacks, 9-4. Conor Jackson had 3 hits and scored 2 runs for Arizona.
