• Martin Prado had 2 doubles and 2 RBI, Matt Diaz collected 3 hits and scored twice, and Brian McCann added a home run as the Braves beat the Nationals, 7-3, to win their fifth in a row. Cristian Guzman had 3 hits for Washington.
• Carlos Zambrano allowed just one run on 5 hits over 7 innings, and Aramis Ramirez homered, scored twice, and drove in 2 runs as the Cubs knocked off the Mets, 7-1. Felix Pie hit a 3-run home run in the 8th inning to put the game out of reach.
• Miguel Tejada went 4-for-5 with a double, home run, 3 RBI, and 3 runs scored, and Lance Berkman added a 3-run homer as the Astros defeated the Padres, 10-3. Roy Oswalt gave up 3 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings for his second win of the season.
• Pat Burrell went 3-for-4 with a 2-run home run, and Chase Utley doubled and homered for the fifth straight game as the Phillies scored 5 times over the last 2 innings to upset the Rockies, 9-5. Yorvit Torrealba doubled, homered, and knocked in 3 runs for Colorado.
• Edgar Renteria double and homered, and Armando Galarraga tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings to lead the Tigers to an easy 5-1 win over the Blue Jays.
• Dan Uggla doubled twice and homered, and Josh Willingham added a double and home run of his own as the Marlins battered the Pirates, 10-4. Xavier Nady had 2 hits and 2 RBI for Pittsburgh.
• Russell Martin and Andre Ethier each had 3 hits, and Nomar Garciaparra and James Loney drove in 3 runs apiece as the Dodgers rocked the Reds, 9-3.
• Adam Wainwright yielded just 2 runs on 4 hits in 7 innings of work, and Troy Glaus reached base 3 times and collected 2 RBI as the Cardinals rallied to edge the Brewers, 4-3. Carlos Villanueva had a strong showing for Milwaukee, giving up just 2 runs on 3 hits while walking 4 over 7 innings.
• Micah Owings pitched 6 1/3 solid innings and picked up 2 base hits at the plate, and Mark Reynolds, Eric Byrnes, and Orlando Hudson all went deep as the Diamondbacks got by the Giants, 4-2.
