  • Jerry Hairston Jr. collected 4 hits and 3 RBI, and Joey Votto added 3 hits and scored 2 runs as the Reds hammered the Dodgers, 8-1. Edinson Volquez allowed just one run on 3 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings to pick up his 3rd win of the season.
  • Miguel Tejada had 4 hits, 2 RBI, and scored 2 runs, and Lance Berkman reached base 4 times, tripled, and knocked in 2 of his own to lead the Astros to an 11-7 victory over the Padres. Adrian Gonzalez doubled, tripled, homered, and drove in 3 runs for San Diego.

  • Brandon Webb didn't have his best stuff, but he made it though 6 tough innings and doubled in 2 runs at the plate to help his cause as the Diamondbacks nipped the Giants, 5-4. Fred Lewis had 3 hits, scored 2 runs, and gathered 2 RBI for San Francisco.
  • Felix Hernandez pitched 7 strong inning, Jose Vidro hit a 2-run single to break an 8th inning tie, and J.J. Putz struck out 2 in the 9th inning to pick up the save as the Mariners held off the Orioles, 4-2.
  • Ronny Cedeno doubled, homered, and drove in 5 runs, and Kosuke Fukudome went 3-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored as the Cubs swept the 2 game series from the Mets, 8-1. Ted Lilly threw 6 solid innings for Chicago.
  • Jacoby Ellsbury went 3-for-5 with 2 solo home runs and 3 runs scored, and Dustin Pedroia singled, doubled 3 times, and stole a base to lead the Red Sox to a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the Angels. Erick Aybar hit 3 doubles, and Jeff Mathis singled, homered and drove in 3 for Los Angeles.
  • Edgar Renteria went 4-for-4 with a double, and Ramon Santiago doubled, homered, and drove in 3 runs to help Justin Verlander and the Tigers beat the Rangers, 10-2.
  • Eric Hinske doubled, tripled, homered, drove in 2 runs, and scored 3 more, and Dioner Navarro went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI as the Rays caged the Jays, 6-4, in Disney World.
  • C.C. Sabathia struck out 11 over 6 scoreless innings, Casey Blake went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles, a home run, and 6 RBI, and Franklin Gutierrez went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI, and 3 runs scored as the Indians torched the Royals, 15-1.
