  • Jeremy Hermida and Mike Rabelo each had 3 hits, and Scott Olsen pitched 4-hit ball over 7 1/3 scoreless innings as the Marlins blanked the Brewers, 3-0, after another Milwaukee bullpen collapse. Yovani Gallardo tossed 7 scoreless innings for the Brew Crew.
  • Zach Greinke pitched 7 strong innings, and John Buck doubled twice, scored 2 runs, and drove in 2 more as the Royals scored 6 runs in the 8th inning to beat the Blue Jays, 8-4, and snap their 7-game losing streak. Scott Rolen returned to action for Toronto and hit a 2-run double.
  • Darin Erstad singled and doubled, Miguel Tejada tripled, and Carlos Lee homered as the Astros rallied for 3 runs in the 9th inning to steal a victory from the Cardinals, 3-2. Braden Looper allowed just 2 hits over 7 scoreless innings for St. Louis. Jason Isringhausen took the loss, giving up all 3 runs to Houston.
  • Frank Thomas walked and singled in a run for his new team, and Dana Eveland kept the Athletics in the game with 5 1/3 respectable innings as the A's held on to defeat the Mariners, 4-3. Jose Lopez had 4 hits, and Cha Seung Baek gave up just one run on one hit in 6 innings of relief for Seattle. Baek took over for the Miguel Batista who injured his groin and left after the first inning.
  • Franklin Gutierrez hit a solo home run, and Jhonny Peralta later hit a 3-run blast to help lead the Indians past the Yankees, 6-4. Jason Giambi hit 2 home runs and drove in 3 for New York.
  • Kelly Johnson reached base 3 times, homered, and drove in 4, and Jair Jurrjens escaped a rough 3rd inning to give Atlanta 6 quality innings as the Braves doubled up the Mets, 6-3. Gregor Blanco had 3 hits and a walk as well for Atlanta.
  • Lastings Milledge had 2 hits and 2 walks, Nick Johnson hit a 2-run homer, and Wil Nieves hit a 2-run walk-off home run in the last of the 9th inning as the Nationals shocked the Cubs, 5-3. Ryan Dempster pitched 7 strong innings for Chicago, allowing just 2 earned runs on 4 hits and 3 walks.
  • Josh Hamilton had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and David Murphy collected 3 hits including, a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning, to help the Rangers snap their 7 game losing streak and beat the Twins, 6-5. Justin Morneau went 3-for-5 with a 3-run homer, and Joe Mauer reached base 4 times for Minnesota.
  • Randy Johnson gave up just one run on 3 hits while striking out 7 over 6 innings, and Mark Reynolds belted a 3-run homer as the Diamondbacks used a 5-run 3rd inning to score all the runs they'd need to beat the Padres, 5-1.
  • Jonathan Sanchez struck out 10 over 8 brilliant innings, and Benjie Molina singled, doubled, walked, and drove in 2 runs as the Giants surprised Aaron Harang and the Reds, 3-1.
  • Juan Pierre was on base 4 times and drove in 2 runs, and Russell Martin went 4-for-4 with 2 walks and 2 RBI, including the game winner in the 13th innings, as the Dodgers outlasted the Rockies, 8-7. Todd Helton had 2 hits and 3 walks, and Garrett Atkins had 3 hits and 2 RBI for Colorado.
