  • Carlos Beltran ripped 3 doubles, and David Wright and Ryan Church each had 3 hits, a homer, and 3 RBI as the Mets trounced the Marlins, 13-0. Oliver Perez pitched 6 shutout innings for New York, striking out 8.
  • Joe Saunders blanked Minnesota for 8 innings, Gary Matthews Jr. had 2 hits and a stolen base, and Howie Kendrick scored the lone run of the game as the Angels nipped the Twins, 1-0. The game marked the 5th shutout of the evening in Major League Baseball.

Chris Young doubled, walked 3 times, stole a base, and scored 2 runs for Arizona.
  • Yunel Escobar homered, had 2 hits, walked, and drove in 3, and Mark Teixeira blasted a 2-run home run as the Braves exploded for 7 runs in the 8th inning to pull away and defeat the Pirates, 10-2. Martin Prado also reached base 3 times and scored 3 runs, and Matt Diaz had 2 hits, a homer, and 2 RBI for the victorious home team.
  • Ryan Ludwick went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, and 3 RBI, and Rick Ankiel added 3 hits and a solo home run as the Cardinals defeated the Rockies, 8-3. Albert Pujols also had 2 hits and 3 walks for St. Louis. Todd Wellemeyer was solid for 5 innings, giving up just one run on 4 hits. Brad Hawpe doubled, homered, and drove in 2 for Colorado.
  • In a game mired by an hour and 14 minute rain delay, Tim Lincecum came out of the bullpen to pitch 4 solid innings, and Jose Castillo and the Giants scratched out just enough hits to sneak by the Dodgers, 2-1.
