CURTIS GRANDERSON | CF
Organization: Detroit Tigers
DOB: 10/10/84 | Height: 6-1 | Weight: 185 | Bats: L | Throws: R
Season and Career Statistics
Scouting Report· Offense: Granderson is a very aggressive hitter at the plate. He has a short, quick stroke which generates a lot of line drives. Most of his line drives are pulled but also is able to shoot the ball to both left and left center. As impressive of a bat as he has, he struggles mightily against left handed pitching. This is the one facet of his game that he needs to work on in order to become a true offensive force. Very good base runner with good speed.· Defense: Granderson is an above average center fielder who has a lot of ground to cover in Detroit. His speed on the base paths carries over to the field as he gets to the ball very quickly in the gaps and balls over his head. This has improved as he continues to get better at getting a good jump and taking better routes to the ball. He also has a strong and accurate arm.· Overall: 2007 was sort of Granderson's coming out party as he became only the third player in MLB history with 20 doubles, 20 triples, 20 homers and 20 stolen bases. He has excellent makeup and is strong in just about aspect of his game except for hitting lefties. He continues to be a catalyst in one of the most potent lineups in baseball today.
