  • Adrian Gonzalez had 4 hits, scored 4 runs, homered, and drove in 2, and Greg Maddux gave up just one run on 3 hits over 7 innings as the Padres doubled up the Giants, 8-4. Khalil Greene added 3 RBI for San Diego, and Bengie Molina had 2 hits and 3 RBI for San Francisco.
  • Bobby Abreu went 3-for-3 with a triple, home run, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored, and Mike Mussina gave up just one run on 2 hits in 6 innings as the Yankees cruised to a 6-1 win over the Rays.
  • Matt Holliday hit a 2-run homer, and Aaron Cook puzzled Atlanta hitters allowing just one hit over 7 innings as the Rockies edged the Braves, 2-1. Tom Glavine pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings for Atlanta.
  • Kosuke Fukudome reached base 5 times, Geovany Soto collected 3 hits and 2 RBI, and Aramis Ramirez drove in the game winning run in the 12th inning as the Cubs outlasted the Pirates, 10-8. Nate McLouth had 3 hits, a walk, and drove in 2 for Pittsburgh in defeat.
  • Joe Crede doubled, homered, and drove in 4 runs, and Javier Vazquez tossed 7 solid innings as the White Sox continued their winning ways by defeating the Twins, 7-4. Mike Lamb had 2 hits and 2 RBI for Minnesota.
  • Hanley Ramirez doubled, homered, had 3 hits, and drove in 3 runs, and Dan Uggla and Robert Andino each added home runs to lead the Marlins to a 10-7 win over the Nationals. Cristian Guzman went 3-for-4 with 2 triples, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored for Washington.
  • Mark Reynolds hit 2 home runs and drove in 3 runs, Orlando Hudson had 2 hits, a home run, and 3 RBI, and newly resigned Chris Young reached base 3 times, hit a homer and drove in 2 more runs as the Diamondbacks knocked around the Dodgers, 9-4.
  • Miguel Tejada hit a 2-run walk-off home run, and Wandy Rodriguez allowed just 3 hits in 7 1/3 scoreless innings to help the Astros beat the Cardinals, 5-3. Todd Wellemeyer threw 7 strong innings for St. Louis.
  • Torii Hunter hit a solo home run in the 8th inning to give his team the lead, and then hit a walk-off grand slam in the 9th inning (after the Los Angeles bullpen allowed 3 runs in the top of the 9th) to propel the Angels to a 6-4 win over the Indians. Joe Saunders had a terrific outing for Los Angeles, allowing just one run on 4 hits over 8 innings. Jhonny Peralta doubled, homered and knocked in 2 runs for Cleveland.
