  • Kevin Youkilis went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double and 2 RBI, and Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings as the Red Sox sent the Tigers to their 7th straight loss, 5-0.
  • Kurt Suzuki had 3 hits, and Ryan Sweeney doubled, tripled and drove in the winning run in the 9th inning as the A's out-slugged the Blue Jays, 9-8. Aaron Hill went 4-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI, and Vernon Wells doubled, homered, and knocked in 3 for Toronto.
  • J.J. Hardy and Jason Kendall each had 3 hits, but it was Rickie Weeks single in the bottom of the 10th that broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Brewers a 3-2 walk-off win over the Reds. Jeff Suppan allowed just one run over 7 innings for Milwaukee while Johnny Cueto yielded 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 8 in 6 1/3 innings for Cincinnati.
  • Matt Holliday went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Todd Helton had 2 hits and scored 2 runs as the Rockies edged the Braves, 4-3.
  • Jake Westbrook pitched a complete game 7-hitter, and Travis Hafner smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 9th inning to lead the Indians to a 4-3 comeback win over the Angels. Vlad Guerrero had 2 hits, a homer, and 2 RBI for Los Angeles.
  • Aubrey Huff went 4-for-4 with a walk, a double, and 4 RBI, and Luke Scott reached base 3 times, doubled, homered, and drove in 2 runs as the Orioles won their 6th in a row by beating the Rangers, 8-1.
  • Brian Bannister and the Kansas City bullpen turned in another solid performance, and 6 different hitters collected 2 hits for the home team as the Royals knocked off the Yankees, 5-2. Mark Teahen lead KC with 2 doubles, a walk, and an RBI. Alex Rodriguez struck out 4 times for New York.
  • Ichiro Suzuki and Jose Lopez had 3 hits apiece, and Richie Sexson drove in 3 runs to help the Mariners put an end to their losing streak and beat the Rays, 6-5. Erik Bedard picked up the win for Seattle but was less than spectacular on the mound.
  • Chris Duncan and Adam Kennedy each reached base 3 times, and Troy Glaus walked and hit a 2-run double in the 8th inning as the Cardinals defeated the Astros, 5-3. Miguel Tejada drove in 2 of Houston's 3 runs.
  • Doug Davis pitched 6 strong innings in his last start before surgery on his cancerous thyroid, and Mark Reynolds and Conor Jackson combined for 4 hits, a triple, a home run, 6 RBI, and 4 runs scored to lead the Diamonbacks to an easy 10-5 win over Chad Billingsley and the Dodgers. Matt Kemp went 3-for-5 with a triple, and Jeff Kent had 2 hits, a walk and 2 RBI for Los Angeles.
  • Benjie Molina hit 2 solo home runs including a walk-off shot in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Giants a 3-2 win over the Padres. Tim Lincecum pitched 6 strong innings for San Francisco. Brian Giles had 4 hits, and Randy Wolf was solid on the mound for San Diego.
