  • Ryan Ludwick had 3 hits, homered, and drove in 2, and Adam Wainwright yielded just one run in 7 innings of work as the Cardinals edged the Dodgers, 2-1. Derek Lowe allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings for Los Angeles.
  • Mike Lamb reached base 4 times, tripled, homered, and scored 4 times, and Kevin Slowey threw 6 scoreless innings to lead the Twins over the Tigers, 9-4. Justin Morneau also had 2 doubles and 2 RBI for Minnesota.

  • Garrett Atkins had 3 hits, homered, and drove in 2, and Matt Holliday homered in the 9th inning to tie the game and singled in the 13th inning to win the game as the Rockies walked off with a 6-5 victory over the Mets. Carlos Delgado doubled, homered, and had 2 RBI for New York.
  • Edinson Volquez struck out 12 in 6 brilliant innings, and Adam Dunn capped a late inning comeback by hitting a solo home run off of Trevor Hoffman in the 9th inning as the Reds stunned the Padres, 3-2.
