  • Gregor Blanco went 3-for-3 with a walk, and Mark Teixeira singled, doubled and drove in 4 runs as the Braves knocked off Brandon Webb and the Diamondbacks, 7-3.
  • Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez each hit home runs, and Ryan Dempster tossed 7 strong innings as the Cubs fought past the Dodgers, 3-1. Jeff Kent had 3 hits, and Chad Billingsley allowed just 2 runs in 6 innings for Los Angeles.
  • Garrett Olson pitched 7 scoreless innings, Nick Markakis singled, doubled, homered, and drove in 2 runs, and Aubrey Huff doubled, homered, and knocked in 3 runs to lead the Orioles to a 6-1 win over the Yankees. Hideki Matsui had 3 hits, and Darrell Rasner allowed just one run over 6 innings for New York.
  • Prince Fielder and Corey Hart each had 2 hits, but Gabe Kapler proved to be the true hero by driving in the winning run in the 11th inning as the Brewers edged the Nationals, 4-3. Jason Bergmann struck out 8 over 5 2/3 scoreless innings for Washington.
  • Scott Kazmir struck out 10 while allowing just one run on 3 hits in 7 innings, Carlos Pena and Dioner Navarro collected 3 hits apiece, and Eric Hinske blasted a 3-run homer as the Rays took care of the Rangers, 7-3.
  • Mike Jacobs doubled, walked twice, and scored 2 runs, and Luis Gonzalez hit a 3-run double as the Marlins buried the Mets, 7-3. Jose Reyes hit 2 solo home runs for New York.
  • Chase Utley had 3 hits, a home run, and 6 RBI, Pedro Feliz had 4 hits and 4 RBI, and Chris Coste singled, double, homered and drove in 4 as the Phillies demolished the Rockies, 20-4. Ryan Howard also reached base 4 times, knocked in 3 runs, and scored 3 times for Philadelphia.
  • Jim Thome homered and drove in 2 runs, and Orlando Cabrera collected 4 hits and drove in the go ahead run in the top of the 12th inning as the White Sox battled back to beat the Indians, 6-3. Victor Martinez had 3 hits for Cleveland.
  • Bartolo Colon gave up just one run on 5 hits in 7 innings of work, and David Ortiz hit a solo home run, walked, and scored twice to lead the Red Sox to a 5-3 victory over the Mariners.
  • Los Angeles' Jon Garland and Detroit's Kenny Rogers battled each other pitch-for-pitch for 7 innings, but it came down to a bases loaded walk by Garret Anderson in the bottom of the 12th inning that gave the Angels a 1-0 win over the Tigers. Vlad Guerrero singled and doubled twice, and Torii Hunter reached base 5 times for Los Angeles.
