- Ryan Doumit went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, and 3 RBI, and Nate McLouth reached base 3 times, doubled and scored as the Pirates defeated the Nationals, 7-5.  Cristian Guzman had 3 hits and 3 RBI for Washington.

- Justin Upton was on base 4 times, and Mark Reynolds tripled and drove in 2 runs to lead the Diamondbacks to another comeback win against the Mets, 5-4. Johan Santana struck out 10 while allowing just 3 hits over 7 scoreless innings for New York.

- Alex Gordon doubled, homered, and had 2 RBI, and Jose Guillen drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 8th inning as the Royals rallied to stop the Rangers, 6-5. Josh Hamilton doubled twice for Texas.

- John Bowker collected 3 hits and scored 3 runs, Rich Aurilia reached base 3 times and drove in 3 runs, and Fred Davis smacked a 3-run home run as the Giants outlasted the Rockies, 10-7. Garrett Atkins had 2 hits and 3 RBI, and Yorvit Torrealba added 3 hits and 2 RBI for Colorado.

- J.D. Drew doubled, homered, and drove in 2 runs, and Mike Lowell hit a grand slam to lead the Red Sox to an easy 9-2 victory over the Orioles. Kevin Youkilis reached base 4 times and hit a 2-run homer, and Jon Lester allowed just 2 runs in 7 innings for Boston.

- Jamie Moyer gave up just 2 hits over 8 scoreless innings, and Chase Utley reached base 3 times and scored as the Phillies blanked the Marlins, 3-0. Scott Olsen pitched a strong game for Florida despite taking the loss.

- Andy Pettitte gave New York 8 strong innings, and Hideki Matsui cracked a grand slam home run as the Yankees beat the A's, 4-1.

- Kenny Rogers and Mark Buehrle battled each other for 8 tough innings, but it came down to a solo home run by Miguel Cabrera in the bottom of the 9th inning that gave the Tigers a 2-1 walk-off win over the White Sox.

- Prince Fielder reached base 4 times and hit a home run, and Corey Hart, Gabe Kapler, and Mike Cameron added big flies of their own as the Brewers downed the Astros, 9-6. Darin Erstad had 3 hits and a home run for Houston.

- Jim Edmonds tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the 9th inning, and Reed Johnson drove in the winning run by getting hit by a pitch in the 11th inning as the Cubs stunned the Braves, 3-2. Geovany Soto had 3 hits, and Aramis Ramirez reached base 3 times and scored twice for Chicago. Jeff Francoeur had 2 hits, a home run, and 2 RBI for Atlanta.

- Jake Peavy returned from the disabled list to throw 6 shutout innings, and Brian Giles and Adrian Gonzalez both hit early home runs off Hiroki Kuroda as the Padres cruised to a 9-0 win over the Dodgers.

- Shin-Soo Choo reached base 3 times, hit a 3-run home run, and scored 3 runs, and Ben Francisco went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI as the Indians clobbered the Twins, 12-2. Jamey Carroll also had a 4-for-4 day, and starter Aaron Laffey pitched 6 solid innings for Cleveland. Justin Morneau had 3 hits for Minnesota.

- Bronson Arroyo tossed 6 shutout innings on the mound and went 2-for-2 with a home run at the plate, and Brandon Phillips tripled and drove in 3 runs to help the Reds get past the Cardinals, 6-2.
