- Vicente Padilla tossed 6 strong innings, and Brandon Boggs reached base twice, homered, and scored the go ahead run in the 8th inning as the Rangers defeated the Nationals, 5-3.
- Hunter Pence hit a solo home run, and Carlos Lee launched a 2-run shot as the Astros rallied to get by the Rays, 3-2.
- Alexei Casilla and Brian Buscher each had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Minnesota scored 5 times off Brandon Webb in the 5th inning as the Twins swept the Diamondbacks, 5-3. Conor Jackson had 3 hits for Arizona.
- Mike Pelfrey blanked Colorado for 5 2/3 innings, and Carlos Beltran hammered a 2-run home run as the Mets beat the Rockies, 3-1. Greg Reynolds pitched a solid 7 innings for Colorado.
- Emil Brown singled twice, walked twice, and drove in 2 runs, Mark Ellis went 3-for-5, and Justin Duchscherer gave up just one run over 7 2/3 innings as the Athletics breezed past the Marlins, 7-1.
- Mark Teixeira blasted 3 solo home runs, and Tim Hudson pitched 7 scoreless innings as the Braves roughed up the Mariners, 8-3. Jeff Clement doubled, homered, and drove in 2 runs for Seattle.
- Marco Scutaro scored 3 runs, and Adam Lind and Scott Rolen each reached base 3 times and hit home runs as the Blue Jays knocked off the Pirates, 8-5.
- Prince Fielder doubled, hit 2 home runs, drove in 3 runs, and scored 3 runs, and Corey Hart homered and knocked in 2 to lead the Brewers to a 7-3 win over the Orioles.
- Dustin Pedroia singled twice and doubled twice, Mike Lowell collected 3 hits, and Kevin Youkilis hit 2 home runs, including a 2-run walk-off shot in the bottom of the 13th inning as the Red Sox pulled out a 5-3 walk-off victory over the Cardinals. Aaron Miles went 5-for-6, and Adam Kennedy went 3-for-3 for St. Louis.
- David DeJesus reached base 4 times, doubled, scored 2 runs, and drove in 2 more, and Mike Aviles added a double and 3 RBI as the Royals rallied to out-slug the Giants, 11-10. Randy Winn went 4-for-5 with a walk and 3 RBI, and John Bowker had 3 hits and 3 RBI for San Francisco.
- Justin Verlander struck out 10 over 5 1/3 strong innings, and Magglio Ordonez doubled, homered, and drove in 3 runs as the Tigers beat the Padres, 5-3. Adrian Gonzalez was on base 4 times and homered for San Diego.
- James Loney went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Juan Pierre added 3 additional base hits as the Dodgers hung on to nip the Indians, 4-3.
- Eric Patterson reached base 4 times, hit a home run, drove in 2 runs, and scored 3 runs, and Aramis Ramirez doubled, homered, and had 2 RBI as the Cubs knocked out the White Sox, 7-1. Ryan Dempster allowed just one run in 8 innings for the home team.
