- Dustin Pedroia picked up 3 hits, Kevin Youlilis went 4-for-5, and J.D. Drew hit a 3-run home run as the Red Sox cruised past the Astros, 6-1.
- Jason Kubel had 2 hits, a home run, and 2 RBI, and Joe Mauer doubled and hit a tie breaking homer in the bottom of the 8th to send the Twins to their 10th straight win, a 7-6 decision over the Brewers. Ryan Braun singled and doubled twice, and Corey Hart hit 2 home runs and knocked in 3 for Milwaukee.
- Gil Meche gave up just one run in 7 innings, and Alex Gordon doubled, homered, and collected 4 RBI as the Royals reeled off their 6th straight win by beating the Cardinals, 7-2.
- Carlos Gonzalez doubled and scored twice, and Dana Eveland was solid over 7 1/3 innings as the Athletics defeated the Giants, 4-1.
- Carlos Quentin went 4-for-5, Jermaine Dye added 3 hits and 3 RBI, and Nick Swisher doubled and belted a grand slam as the White Sox roughed up Ryan Dempster and the Cubs, 10-3. Geovany Soto had 3 hits and a home run for the Cubs.
- Curtis Granderson went 4-for-5 and scored 3 runs, Clete Thomas had 3 hits, and rookie Eddie Bonine yielded just one run in 8 innings as the Tigers crushed the Rockies, 7-1.
- Jair Jurrjens allowed just 3 hits over 8 scoreless innings, and Mark Teixeira led the offense with a double, home run, and 3 RBI as the Braves shut out the Blue Jays, 4-0.
- Dmitri Young reached base 3 times, and Lastings Milledge had 2 hits and an RBI to help the Nationals battle back and beat the Orioles, 4-2. Adam "Don't call me Pacman" Jones had 3 hits for Baltimore.
- Ian Kinsler smacked 2 doubles, a home run, and scored 3 times, and Milton Bradley and rookie Chris Davis added "big flies" of their own as the Rangers hung on to edge the Phillies, 8-7. Pedro Feliz hit a grand slam for Philadelphia.
- Carlos Delgado hit a 2-run double, a 3-run home run, and a grand slam for good measure, and David Wright chipped in 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Mets blasted the Yankees, 15-6, in game one of a day-night, inter-borough doubleheader in New York. Alex Rodriguez had 3 hits, a homer, and 2 RBI for the Yankees.
- Bobby Abreu went 4-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI, and Sidney Ponson tossed 6 scoreless innings to lead the Yankees to a 9-0 blowout win over the Mets in game 2 of their twin bill. Robinson Cano also had a home run and 3 RBI for the Yankees.
- Ichiro Suzuki and Jose Lopez each had 3 hits, and Adrian Beltre added 2 hits and 3 RBI as the Mariners overcame the Padres, 5-2.
- Chan Ho Park did not allow a run while striking out 7 in 6 innings of work, and Russell Martin reached base 3 times, homered, and scored 3 runs to help the Dodgers knock off the Angels, 6-0.
