  • Ryan Howard doubled 3 times, and Shane Victorino went 3-for-5 and scored 3 runs as the Phillies finished their weekend sweep of the Braves, 6-3. Mark Teixeira had 3 hits, a home run, and 2 RBI for Atlanta.
  • Justin Masterson allowed just a run on 3 hits over 6 innings, and J.D. Drew homered and drove in both Boston runs as the Red Sox nipped the Mariners, 2-1. Erik Bedard gave up just one run on 2 hits in 5 innings for Seattle but did not figure in the decision.
  • Nick Swisher doubled, homered, and drove in 4 runs, and Alexei Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI as the White Sox beat up on the Twins again, 12-2. Gavin Floyd struck out 9 in 7 strong innings for Chicago.
  • Joe Dillon doubled, walked 3 times, and scored twice, and Ryan Braun and Gabe Kapler each had 2 hits and an RBI as the Brewers finally stopped the Rockies, 3-2.
  • Brian Giles had 3 hits, Jody Gerut went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI, and Tony Clark hit a pinch-hit 3-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning to lead the Padres to a comeback win over the Mets, 8-6. Carlos Delgado singled, doubled, tripled, and knocked in 2 runs for New York.
  • Mark DeRosa went 3-for-5 with a home run, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored, and Jason Marquis pretty much shut down the Los Angeles offense for 6 1/3 innings as the Cubs clawed past the Dodgers, 3-1.
  • Alex Rodriguez reached base 4 times, doubled, and drove in 2 runs, and Bobby Abreu went 2-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI as the Yankees defeated the Royals, 6-3. Jose Guillen had 2 hits, hit a home run, and drove in 2 for Kansas City.
  • Hanley Ramirez had 3 hits, homered twice, and drove in 4 runs, and Dan Uggla smacked 2 doubles and had 3 RBI to give rookie starter Ryan Tucker plenty of support as the Marlins pounded the Reds, 9-2.
  • Adam LaRoche picked up 3 hits, and Jason Bay and Jack Wilson drove in 2 runs apiece to help the Pirates overcome the Diamondbacks, 6-4. Mark Reynolds hit 2 home runs and drove in 3 for Arizona.
  • Ray Durham collected 4 hits, and Fred Lewis reached base 4 times to pace the San Francisco offense and give Barry Zito and the Giants a 6-3 win over the Nationals. Lastings Milledge had 2 hits, a home run, and 2 RBI for Washington.
  • Kyle Lohse tossed 6 solid innings, Brendan Ryan drove in 2 runs, and the Cardinals held off the Astros, 5-4. Lance Berkman hit a 3-run homer for Houston.
  • Eric Chavez had 3 hits and drove in 2 runs, and Mark Ellis hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 12th inning to send the A's to a 7-3 win over the Angels. Los Angeles' Ervin Santana and Oakland's Rich Harden struck out 9 batters each in 6 1/3 and 6 innings respectively.
  • Milton Bradley was on base 4 times and scored 2 runs, and four different Texas batters collected 2 hits as the Rangers salvaged the final game of the series against the Rays, 6-3. B.J. Upton walked twice and hit a 2-run home run for Tampa Bay.
