Colorado Rockies and National League All-Star manager Clint Hurdle announced that Mets third baseman David Wright will replaced injured Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano on the National League roster for this year's All-Star Game.
Wright, a fan selection in 2006 and 2007, is hitting .288 with 17 homers and 70 RBI for the second-place Mets this season. The selection of Brewers outfielder Corey Hart from the Final Vote paved the way for a non-outfielder to fill the spot vacated by Soriano. Wright finished second behind Hart in the Final Vote which concluded Thursday afternoon.
